I went to a new primary care physician for a follow up on some labs which Tro had ordered. The doc was an hour behind schedule. He hadn’t looked at my chart. I guess it’s easier to ask the patient than scroll through. No problem. In our brief discussion he was quite content with my lack of cancers, low blood pressure, CAC of 0. I got a high five for losing 35 lbs. However I have hyperlipidemia and I should be on some medicine. At this point I tell him about Dr Tro, my medical weight-loss specialist, who has been closely following my case for the last 5 months. And how we’ve made some changes and will be getting new blood work shortly to see how my body has changed. I also tell him that high ldl while doing low carb is expected. I also told him about Tro’s clinical study. My doc says he’s not inclined to agree with the recommendations of of a doctor giving advice without being on the ground with the patient. And you know how too many cooks in the kitchen…. I quietly responded, well, for me Dr. Tro is the chef.
