@Meoweu I think your question in another thread may not have gotten any replies because of where it was at (a thread for questions about tomorrow night’s heart health Q&A.) I only saw it because I was posting a question there.. I wanted to reply to you but figured I’d do it here in case anyone else has any input too. YOUR QUESTION: “I am confused about coffee. I am just starting out with all of this and I currently fast until lunch but I have 2 large cups of coffee with HWC and stevia. Am I fasting? Should I switch to coconut oil? I need the coffee for ADHD and I need the fat in the coffee to keep from getting the shakes. Black coffee alone makes me jittery. I want to lose 60lbs and lower my blood pressure. Thanks!” Here’s my reply: In my humble opinion I really think newer folks need to get their food right, and be fat-adapted before you jump into fasting. When you are new to Low Carb it’s a full-time job to get your food solid! Trying to do too much can be discouraging and set yourself up for an unpleasant experience. If you have not read, The Essential Guide to Intermittent Fasting for Women by Megan Ramos I would HIGHLY suggest you might want to do that. It is a fantastic read for everyone especially women. It can help walk you through intermittent fasting and will answer every single question you have here and others you haven’t even thought of yet. I listened to it on Audible first and then turned around and immediately bought the actual book! It’s one of the best resources I’ve run across. Also, look up Jason Fung on YouTube. He’s got loads of content that is fantastic. 👍🫶💪 https://youtube.com/@drjasonfung?si=eLfaKOqohiz9LuYR
